Matthew Hennek is a young tenor and recent graduate of The Boston Conservatory.  Since graduating in May 2014 he has performed with several companies around the New England area including Opera del West, Harvard Radcliff Gilbert and Sullivan Society, New England Opera Intensive, Boston Opera Collaborative, and NEMPAC Opera Project. His most recent roles have been Marco Palmieri in The Gondoliers, Dr. Dorn in Thomas Pasatieri’s The Seagull,  Sam in Ned Rorem’s Our Town, and in June 2016 will be covering Ramiro in La Cenerentola.  While at The Boston Conservatory he performed Monostatos in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Narrator in Ned Rorem’s Fables, covered Male Chorus in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia, and the sung in the ensembles of La Bohème, Don Giovanni, and L’enfant et les sortlièges.  In addition he has performed in numerous scenes including Tonio in La fille du régiement, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Ariodante in Handel’s Ariodante, Henrik Egerman in A Little Night Music, and Count Almaviva in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia.

Mr. Hennek participated in Florence Voice Seminar in June of 2012 and Flagstaff in Fidenza in July 2013 performing several scenes programs including Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Idomeneo in Mozart’s Idomeneo, and Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte.  He also sung the role of Gastone in Verdi’s La Traviata in Teatro Magnani with the “Giuseppe Verdi” Orchestra of Parma.

Matthew is also an avid oratorio performer.  He made his New England concert soloist debut, joining the Beverly Combined Choirs, in performances of Handel’s Messiah.  Other concert soloist performances have included Haydn’s Harmoniemesse, Mozart’s Vesper Solemnes, Dubois’ The Seven Last Words of Christ, and Mozart’s Requiem.
